Brief intervention

Brief interventions are short interviews which motivate alcohol abusers to reduce their drinking. These interviews are usually done by health professionals - often nurses - who have been trained in their use.

The 'active ingredients' in a brief intervention are:
F - Feedback
R - Responsibility
A - Advice
M - Menu of options (100% Proof)
E - Empathy
S - Self Efficacy"The solution all are simple -- after you have arrived at them. But they're
simple only when you know already what they are."
Robert M. Pirsig American Author
